I do woodcarving design at my computer desk. I saw this in the flyer and thought of all those times I needed something longer than the 6" that fits in the drawer. I would end up going to the shop for the tape measure.

Staples should include in the description the fact that there's a metric side... another plus. Also, they need to make it easier to locate in the store. A sales person in the New Hartford gets kudos for spending a lot of time trying to help locate it, but despite my suggestion that it might be in a special display area for the OXO line, I ended up finding it myself (In the special OXO display).

Great ruler with just one major flaw

I currently work at an accounting office and bought one of these because of it's collapsible design made for easy storage. Its a very sturdy ruler indeed and its heavy feel keeps it from sliding around the paper. I don't seem to have any issues with the center point where the two halves meet, mine seems to align just fine when drawings out longer lines. The little protractor is also a nice touch.

My biggest issue with this ruler, however, has somehow not shown up on any other reviews which I found odd. But basically, I found that the markings on my ruler started rubbing off within the first week. Currently at least half of the markings on my ruler are illegible or faded with only 3 months use. Fortunately for me, my job doesn't require measure any lengths so it hasn't affected me. I can see it being a big issue with any art related professions however.
