I use this pen for work. I'm constantly needing to write down numbers, and little notes. I've discovered this pen isn't all that great for just any type of surface. It seems to do especially awful on sticky notes, and thermal paper. -writes great on normal paper.

The retracting-clip idea is clever, but it takes two hands to extend or retract the tip. In this regard, the design is a step backwards for convenience; in OXO's defense, the traditional twist-operating Cross pens have the same problem, but OXO has built a reputation on making common tools easier to hold or use. So the pen actually goes against the OXO design trend. Lamy did the retracting-clip concept better in the Swift models, they are operated by a top button. Also, the all matte-black OXO pens just make them harder to find. The red stripes shown in the package are removable labels to make sure the user knows where to twist the pen body. If OXO had colored the sides of the retracting clip, or made the pens some color other than black, the pen would be easier to see. So the quality of the OXO pen is decent, but it seems as if the trick feature was thought up by someone who doesn't use a pen much on a daily basis.
Comments about OXO Good Grips Retractable Ballpoint Pen, Black, 2/Pack:
The pen works well for the money you pay for it. I like the fact that it opens easily and has a little nub to prevent it from rolling off the desk when it's open. The body of the pen is wide enough to prevent hand cramping. I am using the ink that came with it, and I'm not sure how old it is, but it skips a bit if you haven't used it much. But once you start writing, it's nice and smooth.

Because it was on sale, I bought it. The cashier assured me that the pen was very good. After using it for several days ,I find that it skips too muich.
