        In the context of pathetically short-lived batteries, ball-point pens with ink that lasts a week then craps out, and flimsy, made-to-break, all-plastic construction of all things formerly considered 'durable goods', the prevailing wisdom is that these seemingly remarkable pens will wear out way, way sooner than expected or desired.
