This chair was very easy to put together. I had it assembled within 15 or 20 minutes. I am 6'6" and 300 lbs. I needed a chair that actually allowed me to sit high enough and felt like it could last for a long time under my weight.
This chair feels rock solid. Whenever I sit in it, I expect it to creak in some way like every other chair I have owned. There are no creaks or sounds what-so-ever.
I finally can sit with my legs at a proper 90* angle, the ultimate in comfort.
I was originally worried about the chair not being some type of leather or at least synthetic leather. Now I know why. Obviously big guys sweat a lot while sitting for a long period of time. With this chair, it feels like there is permanent airflow where you are sitting. Your butt stays cool. :)
The only thing I wish is for the back to extend away from the base more, so that I could sit deeper in the seat.
There is not much of a recline to this chair. They must purposely restrict that so the back does not break from use. Understandable, but slightly annoying.
This is a chair that you could spend hours in and not feel fatigued when you get up.

This it the E-Mail that I sent to Office Star relating to this product.
I was in need of a new chair for my office, and so ended up with one of your company's products, #75373. This chair is listed as suitable for a large person. It is not. I will recommend to all others in my company that we do not purchase any more of these chairs. I will also recomment that we avoid your companies products.
There are several areas in which this chair fails. 1. The seat angle is slanted forward. This is highly uncomfortable. Our purchasing people bought two of these chairs, and both myself and the other gentleman have had to install shims to change the seat angle. 2. The back of the seat is too close to the seat for the size person that you are attempting to seat. It's proximity limits the effective depth of the seat to about twelve inches, between the roll off area on the front of the seat, and my internal padding. This renders the feeling that I am sitting on a narrow board, and with the seat angle, sliding onto the floor. 3. The bottom of the back is too low. The area that would be intended to fit the small of the back is in the middle of my buttocks. This again is pushing me out of the chair. 4. The arms need to rise to a higher point. With them fully extended, my elbows are about one half and inch above the arms.
It is clear that when your company had this chair designed, you did not try it with a focus group of true big and tall men. You may have tried it with big men and women and you may have tried it with tall men, but you failed a key group of your market, very badly.
I will be posting negative comments on every site that sells this chair. I would return the chair, but going through a corporate purchasing department makes this very difficult.
In case you have missed my point, I am highly dissatisfied with your product, it shows a lack of good engineering for it's market.
In other words, this is not a chair for the big and tall. It may fit the big, but not someone like myself.
Comments about Office Star SPACE® Big and Tall Air-Grid Back Chair with Mesh Seat:
As others have said, the seat tilts forward. This is the most uncomfortable chair I've ever sat in. I think I was a little too quick to be happy to find a big and tall chair in the store. So sorry I waited ten days for it to be delivered. Avoid this chair at all cost! You will regret it!
Comments about Office Star SPACE® Big and Tall Air-Grid Back Chair with Mesh Seat:
Daar Sir/Ma'am:
I am 6'3" and 220 Lbs. This is the best chair I have ever sat in for good thigh support; important for a tall man. The weak point: cheap "plastic" arm suports that after three to four years will allow the arm to just break off. The chair needs metal infrastructure in the arm supports. My first chair had exactly the same arm supports, and it lasted about four years before the plastic arm sleeves simply cracked and broke off at the silver pin.
If I had not been able to buy at a considerable discount sale price, I would have bought a different chair. The company needs to redesign the arms with something more substantial!

Q:
What is the seat height of this chair? Most chairs for big and tall are 19" from the floor, which is great for tall people, but I need something a little shorter.
I am sorry that the seat height range is 19" to 22". I recommend 618938 SPACE® Air Grid™ Professional Ergonomic Chair with Black Mesh Seat with a seat height range of 18-1/4" - 22-1/2".

Q:
I can't seem to get the tension set correctly, please see if you have instructions on how it is supposed to work, which way to turn it to make the tension not so tight is all I really want to know. Thanks!
Please contact the manufacturer Office Star for instructions. Office Star can be reached at 1-800-950-7262.

Q:
Does this chair have the knee tilt that will allow the front of the chair to tilt up? I need my bottom to sit lower than my knees to take pressure off my back. Thanks.
I just got this chair. The chair will tilt on the base (like a rocking chair) but it only locks in the front upright position. There is no adjustment to create a permanent tilt that locks into place.

A:
The whole chair tilts (with adjustable tension) and it's a good thing, to be able to keep moving, keep the core muscles in action. So when you tilt back, the back of the seat is lower than the front. This *is* on the tag description as "mid pivot knee tilt control with adjustable tilt tension". In the fully-upright position I would say it feels like it is little more flat or forward tilting than other chairs (the opposite of what you want).

Does this chair have the auto tilt? I.e. does it tilt back a little bit when I lean back, without manual adjustment? Does the back snap forward lightly to stay attached to one's back when I am leaning forward?
