Take advantage of the improved connectivity of this Okidata digital color laser printer to provide printing services for small workgroups. The printer is capable of connecting directly to a single computer or operating as a shared resource over a network, allowing any systems accessing the network to send print jobs directly to the printer.

Network Ready

The Okidata digital color laser printer is network capable using an Ethernet adapter to connect to a wired network hub or router. Once connected, the printer operates as a print server, capable of receiving print jobs sent by any system that's also connected to the same network. In addition to its use as a network capable printer, the printer can also be connected directly to a PC using a high-speed USB 2.0 interface.

Speedy Printing

Larger documents or multiple print jobs can be handled with ease due to the speedy printing capability of the Okidata digital color laser printer. Once a print order is sent to the printer the time to first page is only 8 seconds for a color print or 7.5 seconds for a black and white print, reducing the time spent waiting for output. Once the print run is started, the speed of printing is 27 color pages per minute and 31 black and white pages, allowing the printer to efficiently turn out larger documents without an extensive print time.

Large Paper Capacity

The C530dn has a large paper capacity of 350 sheets. This capacity is split between two paper trays, the first holding 250 standard sheets while the second tray holds 100 sheets of thicker pages such as labels, transparencies, or card stock. The large capacity allows you to engage in longer print runs, producing larger documents or multiple print jobs without having to pause for restocking.

Quality and Performance

Got this after having two HP units commit suicide with toner dust on laser optics - "not economically repairable." This Oki printer uses LED print heads which can be easily cleaned just by opening cover. Big toner capacity. Relatively straight through paper path. Installed driver on Mac OS 10.6 easily with driver plus updater from web site. Internal construction looks more rugged than others. Fans are noticeable in a silent office, but shut down soon after printing (adjustable) - probably not even audible in a normal office. Sleep mode is completely silent and very low power usage. Bottom line: I love this printer.

Nothing but trouble

We purchased this printer to replace an HP Phaser that was discontinued. I have never been more disappointed in a printer - ever. I read the reviews and everyone seemed to love this printer. We have had nothing but trouble. It is used in a small office. I would say 50-100 pages printed a day (at most!). The color is great and it does print double sided but that's all. It's a very loud printer. We get error messages DAILY. I have had to contact the manufacturer directly three times to have replacement units sent out. It says there's a paper jam when there's no paper in the unit at all. It says there is no paper in the tray after I just filled the tray. We get a service error at least once a week. OKI's solution - send us yet ANOTHER printer. The cartridges are expensive and you must use OKI brand (thankfully we have) or it will void the warranty. I'm waiting to hear back from OKI to see how they will resolve this, if at all, but at this point there is no redemption for this brand in my books. Did I mention this printer is loud? Should you get a model that actually does function, the noise level of this printer is not suitable for a small office. I would give it a 0 star if I could.

I just bought this for my boutique law firm about 4 months ago. We have printed maybe 2,000 pages. Two color toners are already out and the paper tray broke in normal use after one month. Toner is very expensive (I have another color laser). Okidata sent a new tray to replace the broken tray, but would not budge on why ink was gone only after 2,000 pages (four packs of paper). Instructions to replace the tray are terrible. Written like the cards provided on airplanes for a crash... Not a good start. I am hopeful with new toner purchases, we will get 3,000 pages or more and this will be a good purchase. Will update in 3 months. I will be looking to see if this post actually makes to to the Staples website. BTW - I never take the time to write a review. That should indicate how unhappy I am. Your experience may vary.

The printer appears to be well built and the print quality is very good. I can't say anything about reliability yet, because it is new. Replacing all the toner and image drum is going to be expensive.

We are a small office 2-4 people, with perhaps an average 50 pages/day. Have been using similar models from the OKI line for about 7 years - no issues. This is a step down in our usual model.

We just unpacked the printer; took off all the wrapping/tape/plastic and had an error message (one of the toner cartridges was not installed correctly) when we first turned it on. A bit frustrating trying to troubleshoot the error, spent the better part of an hour on the phone with OKI tech support trying various re-positioning of drum and toner - to no avail. (It looked like there was a spring that had dislodged in the Image Drum assembly) They ended up sending a new machine (next day!), which we unpacked and set up with no issues. Been working great so far. Now have to pack up the first one and return to OKI.
Hoping things continue to run smoothly with this new machine!

We switched from a Xerox Phaser printer to this printer and we were more than impressed! Quick print times, great quality, and reasonable priced toner! Setup/Install was not quite as easy as other brands, but not difficult by any means. Overall, great printer for it's price!

Will this work with transfer paper, I heard a printer head shouldn't be over 350 degrees and this one is 440 degrees?

  That will depend on the transfer paper.
  
  Some people have reported success by fiddling with the paper settings(ultra heavy) and media type(card stock), then feeding sheets individually through the manual tray.

  Yes, it folds out from the front of printer. Also has rear output tray that can be used for very heavy stock. With both trays down, paper path is essentially straight through from front to back.
