        Had to finally purchase a recording device. Instructor tests on more of his oral instruction than book information. Has helped tremendously. Key to purchase was ability to sync with computer to tranfer files recorded. Too large to email though.

          Very surprised at the efficiency of this recorder compared to the very expensive recorders on the market. It actually works better than my expensive recorder when it comes to transfer to dragon dictate.

                I used it in a class that started to pick up the pace when handwriting became illegible and erratic. The class is small about a 25-30 person room with a moving lecturer, I sat in the very back row with good recording results. I used a 8 yr old camera before in a microphone class with dissmal results. The sound was the same, not a big difference when the lecturer moved horizontally. This is by far better than my old camera. Good reception is good & bad. Good-lecturer reception was good. Bad also picked up the person next to me arriving, zipping, coughing, sneezing etc. I haven't tried the voice recognition software yet...elminating noises to get voices only. But am happy with use so far. I already owned rechargeable batteries, glad I don't need to worry about replacing a specialty battery. Only need 2 AA batteries, worked for several lectures, repeated playing. The menu filenames can't be renamed in the device but can be when uploaded to a computer. I liked the fact that I could physically compare recorders at Staples. I was able to see where the input sound would pick up, chose this recorder. Other stores only had the product in boxes. I need to interview a few people for a class, I will probably use it for the interviews as well.

                  I previously purchased a voice recorder and am looking to exchange it. The one I purchased does not let me rewind what I've recorded and instead just goes right back to the beginning which is annoying. Does this device do the same thing or am I able to rewind or go back just a few seconds or minutes if I need to rather then having to listen to everything all over again from the start?

                    This item has a rewind feature that will let you press the rewind button, and stop at whatever interval you choose. The recording will play from which ever point you stop rewinding at.
