    The Otterbox Defender Series for the iPhone 5 is one, if not the, best cases I've ever owned for a cell, iPhone or otherwise. When I got the iPhone 5 last fall I bought a Speck case (primarily because my iPhone loving friends told me it was the best on the market and was the only one worth considering). I listened and bought a Speck, one that fit very snugly around the phone (I didn't want anything too big or bulky). It seemed really thin, but that was supposed to be part of its appeal. Thin but strong. However, it wasn't long until it started peeling off in places and just didn't feel like it was protecting the phone well enough. I was also concerned about the screen getting scratched and the OB came with a screen protector, but the Speck did not. I saw the Otterbox in a Staples circular and it looked exactly like what I decided I needed--thicker but not enormous, much more solid and more protective. The next week I went into a Staples store, a helpful salesperson located the case I wanted, and it looked even nicer in "person";: not too big or bulky, but just right. Since I'm not too mechanically inclined, the Staples guy helped me put it on, and I was immediately impressed--it looked great--not too bulky, just right. Also comes with a belt clip which I probably won't ever use, but is good to have.
    All in all: I highly recommend this case. A good value that I expect will last a long time.

        This does a good job to protect your phone. It took a few minutes to set it up on the phone but with instructions it was not difficult. The belt clip is a bit bulky and the phone is fully visible so you may want to avoid wearing it in certain places.

                I had purchased a Gumdrop product for my iPhone since I was so delighted with the product for my iPad, and still am. The problem is the size of the case of the Gundrop for iPhone kept me from putting it on my belt so I was forever losing it. The OtterBox solved that problem perfectly. Good belt clip and the protective case is just as good. I'd highly recommend it.

                    The outer surface is a stretchable rubber material it just wraps around the phone. The screen is just a slipcover. Very easy to get the phone inside.
