RAM is the cheapest way to boost your computer's performance, and PNY RAM is good and reliable. They are actually a board assembler. That means they buy all of their chips from one company, and assemble the boards themselves. This is important because you know you will be getting the same quality again and again. I've seen RAM from K-Byte for sale with Sony chips in one box, Intel chips in another, and another company with its name written in an Asian language.

I purchased two of these memory items and had them installed in my computer. I was told it would speed up my computer to "a very noticable difference." I really can not tell any differences at all. I was let down by my expectations. I was told it would enhance both speed and performance and I can not tell either has improved.

    Comments about PNY 1GB (1 x 1GB) DDR2 (240-Pin SDRAM) DDR2 667 (PC2 5300) Universal Desktop Memory:

My son has an older Compaq Presario using Windows Vista Home Basic. The thing never worked right from the start and it was given to us freely. Once I reloaded the OS got it updated I needed 1 more memory module to work with the Crucial one that was in it to get it at 2GB, the maximun. It sure seems that PNY works perfectly with the Crucial memory and has made a significant improvement.

It is used to research and watch videos online. No gaming, so I cannot offer any feedback on that.

              A:

Yes, there is a difference. SDRAM is the interface that the memory uses to connect to your computer's mother board. To inquire if this product is compatible with your computer, please contact us at 800.333.3330.

              A:

SDRAM and DDR2 RAM are completely different. SDRAM is single sided ram that is used on your older computers which are sometimes hard to come bye, they are also more expensive due it being opsolete. DDR2 ram is your double sided ram which your newer computers use which runs at twice the speed of SDRAM. you want to check and make sure that you check and see exactly what your computer is using by going into your computer specs to find out what size the "front side bus" is on the ram your using. it would say something like SDRAM PC100 to PC333 depending on the speed of you ram
