RAM is the cheapest way to boost your computer's performance, and PNY RAM is good and reliable. They are actually a board assembler. That means they buy all of their chips from one company, and assemble the boards themselves. This is important because you know you will be getting the same quality again and again. I've seen RAM from K-Byte for sale with Sony chips in one box, Intel chips in another, and another company with its name written in an Asian language.

I purchased two of these memory items and had them installed in my computer. I was told it would speed up my computer to "a very noticable difference." I really can not tell any differences at all. I was let down by my expectations. I was told it would enhance both speed and performance and I can not tell either has improved.

          Needed more RAM so I could have 3 to 5 windows open at the same time. Has improved the speed and efficiency as I do work-at-home transcription and occasionally need to research some medical terminology. Biggest improvement I see is in running Media Player.

            Increased memory to 3 GB which allows Windows to keep more in memory rather than using the page file. Side benefit is that programs that I use to configure my system no longer attempt to "defrag memory". For about $60, its well worth it.
