      Comments about PNY 512MB (1 x 512MB) DDR (184-Pin SDRAM) DDR 333 (PC 2700) Universal Desktop Memory:

Bought 2 512k modules for my mom's older Dell computer that ony came with 512k RAM and maxed out at 1 MEG. With the new pair the machine now runs really nice. Will certainly buy more PNY memory in the future as PNY memory has allways performed well for me.

      Comments about PNY 512MB (1 x 512MB) DDR (184-Pin SDRAM) DDR 333 (PC 2700) Universal Desktop Memory:

I have an older desk top that was not working to well. I wanted to use it in my workshop so I wouldn't have to get my laptop or go back to my house to look things up. It would not install the security soft ware I needed and would not get Windows updates. I installed the PNY memory sticks (whick took less than 5 minutes to do), I was then able to get the updates that allowed me to install the other software. Great fix for the price and very easy to do.

Like getting a new computer without the upgrade problems. I have upgraded 2 computers with PNY DDR memory and have had easy installation, zero problems, and improved performance with each system. Allows me to continue to use XP.

I have a HP Pavilion 6740C I added one memory card 2 years after I bought it, and would like to rplace that card with this one, and or I think there were 3 slots for additional memory? Is this compatible for my PC. I use this as a 2nd computer. It is running windows xp home and I need more memory for better performance on line. Thanks!

It looks like this upgrade is not compatible with you Pavilion 6740. Checking multiple sites, it looks like your HP Pavilion 6740C only has 2 memory slots total, with each slot supporting modules up to 256MB for a total of 512MB if both slots are filled.

Will this product work in an Hp Paillion m7500y; and if if does will I have to replace all the ram I used to have 1024 mb but one of the sticks went bad and doesn't work so I only have 512 mb of working ram.

              • A:

No, this RAM will not work for the HP PV m7500y. The m7500y needs any of the following:
                DDR2 PC2 3200 (400 MHz)
                DDR2 PC 4200 (533 MHz)
                DDR2 PC2 5300 (667 MHz) DIMMs
It also actually supports up to 4GB of RAM (4x1GB sticks), so consider upgrading to the full capacity.

I own a HP Pavilion a610e desk top computer that currently has 512K of RAM installed by the mfr. I would like to increase it as inexpensively as possible. How many memory slots does it have? If 2, I would add another 512K to it. If more than 2, I would add more 512K cards. Does this make sense? If only 2 slots can I add a 1G to the existing 512K? Which cards should I buy? what about Bus speed?
