I looked at dozens of Panasonic cordless units online and in two stores. This was the ONLY model that a) had a HEADSET JACK - most new models don't have this critical element, b) Quality strong signal at a distance c) easily adjustable voicemail recording, adjustable handset sound tone and volume control, big bright display, big easy to use buttons, caller ID, and a lot more. Why Panasonic is selling other models that lack these core features is hard to say. Stay with this model - don't just grab any Panasonic.

I first bought a Uniden sysem at your Staples store in Wareham, MA and used it only for part of summer last year. By this summer it was beyond guarantee, but i took it back to the store and reported that it was a piece of junk. I have now bought this presumably much better phone system, with great regret over the expense after having been informed by your clerk that the Uniden system was very good. I gave the Uniden units back to the store for recycling of parts or whatever. .

Very few cordless phones have a headset jack nowadays. E.g., Costco sells none that do. With a headset, you can type at computer keyboard while on the phone, or use both hands to thumb through written materials. I find this much superior to "speakerphone" which has an echo quality. Other cordless phones that I have require proprietary batteries that are not generally available in most stores, and must be ordered from the manufacturer or third-party Internet sources. The AAA NiMH batteries can be purchased for less than half the cost of proprietary batteries, and are very widely available.

  Please see the below for your questions for the Panasonic KX-TG4732B DECT 6.0 Expandable Digital Cordless Answering System with 2 Handsets. Battery type is AAA batteries, 2 per phone needed. The addition handsets are the KX-TGA470B; we do not currently carry these. The release date for this model phone was March of 2012. I was unable to locate any changes in model since the release date. No Panasonic 3 handsets phone systems are currently available on Staples.com.
