      I stopped using ball point pens years ago because I couldn't find one that wrote as smoothly as a gel pen. But gel pens can tend to smear and take a while to dry and don't write well on all surfaces so there are times when I would have preferred a ball point.
      I purchased a pkg. of Paper Mate "Profile Elite" ball point pens and they are the best pens I have ever used. Because I write a lot, I am picky about my pens. This is the first ball point pen I have used that writes as smoothly as my favorite gel pens.
      I highly recommend this pen!
