I am mechanical pencil nerd. First of all, I really, really dislike using regular wooden pencils -- the constant sharpening and smudgy erasures are annoying. Okay for school kids but not for someone who often needs to write very small and neatly. And eventually the wooden pencil's eraser gets harder and the smudges get darker and darker. So, no more wooden pencils.
I've tried many, many different mechanical pencils over the years. These are the best! The shaft is a comfortable diameter with no sudden change in diameter, creating a ridge above the tip (which causes a pressure point on my finger). And it has the long "twist eraser" which means I can erase as much as I want or need to without having to first remove a cap (a real lose-it hazard), plus practically never running out of eraser.
Since I discovered this pencil I've purchased several packages because I fear they'll stop making it. I sincerely hope they never do!

    Reasonable for price

Comments about Pentel® Mechanical Barrel Pencil Lead:

Only had for a couple of weeks and so far the pencil and its features work well. It is comfortabe for me to use. The only down side is a tipical complaint I have with many manufacturers and that is, I only needed one pencil not two as was the way these were packaged. The practice of forcing customers to buy more of an item than needed or wanted creates a false economy. There are time when someone may want to purchase multiple quantities, but they, the mfg. should also offer single item purchase. But, all in all I like the pencil.

Comments about Pentel® Mechanical Barrel Pencil Lead:

My husband and I are both crafters. He builds wooden boat models and I draw and paint. At times we each need fine lead lines in the course of our project. The Pentel mechanical pencil lead is just perfect for our needs. You could say the lead is right on point!
