I take a ridiculous amount of notes and I LOVE the Better stick pen which uses these refill. They are awesome for use on multiple layer (self copy) forms. I also used them when I worked at a prison and had I been attacked, I would have used this pen as a weapon. They write smoothly from the first stroke through the last drop of ink. They also do not fatigue the hand when you need to write a lot or for long periods of time. I recommend them especially when you need fine and clear lines of writing. Regarding the whole pen, the only problem I have ever had is with the threads of the female end of the pen (which actually holds the refill) stripping and not gripping the male end of the barrel securely. It will not write if the threads are stipped. Also the lids never secure well and end-up lost. If Pilot fixed these issues it would be the only pen I would ever use!!! They also come in at least three colors and medium point, too. I hope this helps you.
