I love this 8" x 8" scrapbook. This will be my first time scrapbooking and organizing my best photos. The outside is quite classy looking with the contrasting stitching around both back and front. Although it is faux leather you really can't tell. The Memory Book comes with 20 top loading pages that include heavy paper inserts and sheet protectors. I like this option of protecting my work and the photos. When you need more paper and inserts there is an order form inside the book if you can't find it at your local Staples. You can get white or black card stock as a background to highlite your work. You don't have to worry that you will have to buy another memory book right away because of the expandable screw post spine which is easy to reload with the 8" x 8" protectors and top loading sheet protectors. When you reorder paper/protectors you will also get additional extension posts. I would indeed recommend this to not only "first timers" but to veterans of scrapbooking. Mine will be on the coffee table for all friends and relatives to see and I will also have saved my "best" photos. Why keep photos when no one sees them? Pioneer E-Z Load Memory Book at Staples is the best.
