I have tried various Bluetooth headsets over the years. Usually giving up on each of them (even though I would buy the most expensive one available at the store each time). People just couldn't hear me correctly when I used them. They could tell I was on a Bluetooth headset.

This time, when I bought this headset on sale, I made sure I could return it if it didn't work since I had so many bad experiences.

This is the first headset that people can't tell I am using it! It is a keeper.

Sound quality: Not so good. It sounded spotty when I moved around.
Disconnection: It disconnected from the phone randomly when not in used (with the headphone remained on my ear), and sometimes it cannot be reconnected. I have to turn off the phone to reset the connection.

I found out later that it worked great if I toke it off from my ear when it wasn't in use. I guess the problem probably was on the "motion sensing to connect". I don't know that much detail on this technology. In that case, it may not be convenience when I drove.

Comments about Plantronics Voyager Pro HD Bluetooth Headset:

Sound quality is usually good, but it is still tough to clearly make out certain voice types in a car in the rain (too much background noise and can't get the volume high enough to compensate). Again, depending on the caller's voice type, or maybe their phone quality, occasionally the speaker crackles some when the caller talks. This gets annoying because turning the volume down low enough for this to not happen means I can't hear them.
Comfort is fine. I have no issues wearing with reading glasses or sun glasses. I am used to an in the ear fit so this took some time to adjust too but I have. I still think I would prefer in the ear and maybe the sound levels would be better but perhaps this setup is designed for their noise cancellation.
Battery life is very good but given the overall size I would expect that.
Initial pairing was easy and it always connects without issue. It says it has a system to sense when you aren't wearing it. I don't use it much except by accident when I get out of my car momentarily, don't want it on my ear and forget to put it back on when I reenter. Putting it facedown seems to defeat the sensor and it thinks it is still on my ear.
One major flaw in my opinion is the bluetooth range. It stays connected for maybe 30 feet but I can't get more than 8 feet away before I start getting static/crackles.
Overall good compared to the many headsets I've had but still not 5 stars. More like 3.5, better than average definitely, but that wasn't an option.

I used a earlier Plantronics model at a previous employer. The unit was compatable with both my office "land lines" and my mobile device--Does this unit have the same capability? (Can I conect to both my "land line" and my iPhone?)

The Plantronics Voyager is compatible with all Blue tooth devices, so if your land-line phone has a Blue tooth feature you will be able to connect them.

Per the manufacture Plantronics, I was advised that they have not tested this Plantronics Voyager Pro HD Bluetooth Headset with a 2 line phone, however if the phone is blue tooth you should be able to pair it to the phone.

I see you verified that this is a Plantronics Voyager Pro HD. Is this a replacement for the Plantronics Voyager Pro+ ?

          • A:

My guess would be "yes". Some of the stores are still selling the Pro+ but I'm fairly sure it's just old existing inventory. I bought the HD as a replacement for my Pro+ and couldn't be happier. The HD has better audio and the new features (auto answer, etc.) are excellent. When my Pro+ broke I was tempted to replace it with the same model but now that I've had a chance to use the HD I'm glad I switched.

I don't know about what your term of replacement means, but it's the latest newer model of the Voyager Pro+, Yes.

As long as your computer has bluetooth you would be able to use this particular item with the computer. And this particular device will work up to 33 feet of where your item would be sitting.
