I own about (8) eight of these! The lid "lip" perimeter curves (about 90 degrees) over the box edge - keeping insects out of your paperwork (here in Florida that's a problem no matter how clean your house is!) It is light-weight yet real sturdy. Mine are packed full with hanging files & paperwork with plenty of height to allow for the hanging tab plastic labels. I wouldn't buy any other box for storing paperwork or anything else!

The fatal flaw of these boxes is that the hinges pop loose very easily...all you have to do is either let the top flop open all the way and then the plastic that makes up the hinges stretches out. After this, the hinges do not ever work again. You can go to the trouble of realigning the top in the hinge, but the next time the top opens past 90 degrees...pop, they are out again. The top must then be used as a loose top, not a hinged top. This really needs to be fixed.

I like that the width is "squared" from top to bottom. I store matted prints in the boxes, and this design maximizes the capacity. They also stack very well.

The lid/top cover will not stay attached to the box. Very poor design that I really want to return but I do not want to waste a trip to the Staples store. Can you ship me a replacement?
