Comments about Quartet® 3' x 2' Cork Bulletin Board with Oak Frame:
I bought this cork board to replace one I had previously purchased at a large discount department store. This one, though more expensive, is of much higher quality and will clearly last much longer, so I am happy with it. It did have an unpleasant musty smell when first removed from its box, but that has gone away with time.

Product description said "Oak frame" so I expected a wooden frame, not a cheap laminated veneer. I also received none of the mounting hardware that was supposed to be included. [...]

This was very expensive in that it doesn't do the one job you buy it for - to tack notes or photos. The cork is so thin, the tacks and pushpins do not hold in the cork. Ridiculous - that's the only thing its supposed to do!! The slide mounts make the board move when you try to pin something to it. I could barely get a straight pin from a name tag and you have to enter the cork sideways with the pin. The tacks and pushpins won't work and you can't bang them in or you will ruin your wall and crack the frame. Save your money. I had it shipped and have 8 holes in my wall now. I'm stuck. You can spend another [$] each for cork tile and glue it over the cork board but not guaranteed to stick. Get some thick cork and make your own board.
