I started using these Quartets over Expos about six months ago. For the first few months I loved them. Bold black marks until they ran dry, and the see-through chambers let me know if one would last the day's lecture. Then every few packages, the pens would leave a light grey mark on the board. Then every other package. And now, the last five packages I've bought have all left only a light grey mark on the board. Same board. Same conditioning process as ever. And Expos still leave a bold black mark. The pens are not dry - the chambers are full. The tips are moist. I've tried leaving the pens flat/horizontal. I've tried storing them tip-down. Quartet's quality control is just not there, sadly.

I use these markers every day and I have to purchase them myself. I wish our school would by these markers. They are comfortable to use, last fairly well, but best of all, they clean off the white board without leaving a residue - my white board is white not a gastly grey/black color from all the marker residue. They save me so much time because I don't have to clean my white board every day, or once a month for that matter.
