  For this Quartet Prestige Total Erase Cubicle Dry-Erase Board with Graphite Frame, 48" x 18".
  I have researched with the manufacture Quartet at (800) 541-0094, and was advised that unfortunately the marker tray is not removable.

  Staples describes this product as having a "attached marker tray". This suggests that the tray cannot be re-positioned. Furthermore, the mounting fixtures included are build for a landscape orientation, adding another level of difficulty to the reorientation you are considering.

  I couldn't find anything permanent by nature. Whiteboards are designed to deliver similar functionality as conventional blackboards at schools and colleges. But people use Chartpak's product to create lines and such.
