We purchased two of these base units and two "compatible" cordless units thinking that 4 people could use the system at the same time if needed. The base units work perfectly, HOWEVER YOU CANNOT USE A BASE UNIT AND A CORDLESS UNIT AT THE SAME TIME (to make calls on 2 different lines). When one is in use the other can't be used for any function. Even called cust svce # to verify. They confirmed that this is how they are supposed to operate. Even though this is a 4-line phone, unless you have 4 base units you cannot make calls all the lines at the same time. The cordless units are designed to be used ONLY by the same person that uses the base unit. This is impractical for our purposes. I'm returning the entire system even though the base units are awesome and very easy to use. Sleek design as well.

Nowhere in the promotional info did it say "Callers hear annoying beep every 15 seconds while on hold." Loud enough to raise the dead. I called RCA and the operator suggested - really! - that I disguise the beep by purchasing music-on-hold from my phone provider that synched with it.

This phone and company is cheap. You pay $30 more for caller ID, what is this 1990?
When you add an expandable headset and use it, the base is not functional. So you can't use both, even though you have a 4 line phone!!!! RCA needs to get a clue for business needs. I am considering returning this, but we went ahead and got the panasonic 4 line base and expandable handsets (1000x better)

Have had phone "Systems" that require big, expensive control boxes in my utility room. Needed to replace existing poor quality (for my needs) pricey "System". Only need 3 lines, great sound quality for a very noisey environment and a hold button for my restaurant. All the other features are not needed but come with all phones that I have seen. This RCA phone fits the bill. Sound is excellent and adjustable. Does not pick up background noise like most phones. Features seem to work fine and easy, even though we don't use most of them. Had the phone man come in to re-wire the jacks to accomodate these phones. Total price for 5 phones and wiring was less then half of what a new "system" would have cost me and the phones themselves are A 1.
