Please note that the item I received was an updated model, that I actually like a lot better.[...] have alerted the site that the model has changed.I ordered from here because the pictured item was an exact match to the previous lid I had owned. On all other sites I researched, the newer model was pictured. BUT because of it's stockier appearance and rounded corners, the newer model gave me illusion of being the wrong shape to fit my 23 gallon. Don't worry! This updated one fits perfectly. PLUS Staples' price is the absolute lowest I found on the 'net.I like the new design better because instead of the "swingy rooftop" shape lid (of which the hinge piece snapped on my old one) it has counterweighted "saloon doors" which swing closed after trash is deposited. They take a minimum of effort to open--between 1.0 and 1.4 oz by weight depending on the shape of the object being disposed of (yes I actually tested this). This design seems less prone to breakage even though it is more mechanically complex.
