    I'm a law student and use this as my day-to-day school backpack. This is a good backpack for carrying your laptop and papers, but the main pocket has dividers in it, which is a problem if you're a student with large textbooks to carry around. I actually took out the dividers (with careful use of a seam ripper you can take them out without doing any damage to the pack since they're sown in separately), and now the pack can hold two large textbooks and a couple notebooks and and folders as well as my laptop. The small pocket in front is good for miscellaneous small items.

    The bag is great looking, with lots of padding -- maybe a little bit too much, make it heavy even it was empty.
    My main complaint is with the padding on the back. The additional padding was supposed to make you comfortable, but the top portion padding on back made me uncomfortable. This may differ for different people and different habits of use.

                I'm planning on using this backpack for my laptop, because I think it's better on the shoulder than a typical laptop bag. I haven't gotten my laptop yet, but so far I've been using it for 1 or 2-day travel excursions like Disneyland, sleepovers, etc. It has a lot of pockets and the back is really comfortable.

                Good bag, seems well made. I bought it for my 17" Dell Inspiron 9300 notebook (15.5" x 11.3" x 1.7") and it just fits the inner sleeve snugly, and fits just right into the laptop compartment. Not many bags fit my computer, so I was pleased, especially since this bag is quite compact. The tradeoff is main compartment could be bigger to hold the power supply, accessories and whatever else you need. Side pockets are too small to hold anything beyond change. I haven't traveled with it yet, so cannot comment on how well it functions.
