      It should at least have he clips to add a shoulder strap. There are a few times where a shoulder strap would have been more desirable.

      Overall it is exactly what i wanted for my travels. It holds a the smaller laptops very effectively as well as the 17+ inch one.

      I needed a good rolling case for my new 17" laptop and hurridly went to Staples. This bag is heavy even empty so I should have known. It was totally impossible to lift to overhead compartments in airplane and too big to go under seat. Needed help. I regret buying this bag.

          Bought this for my husband, a professional square dance caller. He is able to put most of his equipment - computer & accessories, amp, microphone, wires, connectors, etc. - in this case. Then, for lessons or small set ups, he only has to carry this and a speaker. He loves it.

            The specs say this fits up to a 17" laptop in the padded pocket, however, the dimensions of the laptop pocket are 10.75" by 16" by 2.25. So does it fit a 17" laptop or not?

              Yes, it fits a 17" laptop. The 17" refers to the screen measured at a diagnal. Therefore, for the bag measurements, the 10.75" refers to (when looking at your lapto closed facing you) the vertical measurement, the 16" refers to the horizontal measurement and the 2.25" refers to the height (closed).
