This is based on the previous cartridge I purchased, which was the exact same print cartridge part number. I wouldn't have purchased it again but I don't notice my following observation until after I went to install this same exact replacement cartridge.
Albeit I don't need to print all the time, the OEM cartridges have always been viable until the ink chamber was empty. However, with remanufactured cartridge, I found it had a dry residual ring around the hole where the ink passes through. I also noticed there was enough ink left in the chamber to cover the ink chamber when tilted all around.
If you need save a couple dollars in the up front purchase price then this cartridge is fine. However, in the end I don't believe your saving any money based on $/page. This is only based on the amount of ink that seemed to be still left in the ink chamber.

Q:
I purchased a two-pack of this product and both cartridges did not fully empty when the printer instructed me to replace them. This never happened with the Canon products and I feel I was misled about the product being close in quality to the original Canon product.
This situation can and does also happen with Canon brand ink cartridges. The printer has the "smarts" to think it knows when the ink is empty -- even if it is not. You can override this by holding the "reset" button depressed for some 10 full seconds. You will then need to replace the cartridge when your print outs actually demonstrate that the ink has actually run out.
