There is no way to stabilize this footrest. The flat piece slips over the metal piece. If you put your foot on it the wrong way, the heavy flat piece flips up and either hits you in the shin or makes you lose your balance, not an easy thing to so while sitting down. It is also too close to the ground and the height cannot be adjusted. Way too expensive and way too flawed design. If I hadn't discarded the packing materials, I would have returned it. Now it is an eyesore that I am going to just throw away when I can bring myself to do so.

Not the same QUALITY. I have an older model of this product. Safco must have changed the materials! It's not as durable as the one I purchased several years ago! RETURNING as soon as I get chance!!!

Too low and only has one setting. If you try to adjust your feet, the foot rest part pops out of the frame. Not worth the money even though it is a good price.
