I'm confused about some of the answers to questions. I have a scale that works up to 5 lbs. I need one that will weigh 5-10 lb packages and can also be used to be sure my suitcase is not overweight, usually 50-75 lbs. Can this scale be accurate in both cases?

  This scale is accurate within 0.2 lbs (3.2 ounces) so you would not want to use it as a postal scale (they are usually accurate to within 0.1 ounce) but it's fine for weighing your luggage.

  Yes, you can keep the sale on all day. To allow the scale to be on all day turn the scale on. Then e on/o key and the units key for 3 to 5 seconds. You will see a set up display stating P103. Use the units key to change to P100 (the last 0 will be flashing). The machine will reboot and the scale will stay on all day. If you require further assistance please call Salter Brecknell at 1-800-637-0529.

  You can use this scale from 0-150lbs and it will be accurate within 0.2lb. The 50-150 rage is beacause this a medium duty scale designed to be sturdy/durable when handling heavier weight items.

  Follow these instructions for installing a new battery into the scale (sku# 561497):
  1. Place unit upright on a flat surface and lift the platform (platter) from the top of the scale.
  2. Remove battery compartment door and insert batteries into compartment. Make certain to observe the correct polarity.
  3. Replace compartment door and platform cover on scale.
