    Comments about Salter Brecknell 150-lb. On-Line Compatible Bench Scale:

    This product REQUIRES an RS-232C port be installed/available in the computer. (not common these days with USB being the primary device interface) The cord to the display head is too short even when we are placing it less than 3 feet away. The instructions were unclear about how to mount the display head, but it was simple enough to figure out. The delay in reading/readying the unit for use is a bit awkward as well - it doesn't stay "on" long enough to process a package, walk away for a short errand or purpose and resume packing without restarting the unit - we haven't figured out if there is a way to extend this time or not. I would only recommend this item if you already have an RS-232 port or know how to install one. Also if your shipping can be done in batches with the clerk not leaving the shipping area during the batch.We haven't been able to test the UPS Worldship interface with this product as yet, since the review request came too soon to have accomplished this since we have had difficulty locating an RS-232 card that will fit our shipping computer.
