I purchased this while it was on sale. It was a good price to say the least.

There is a lot useless information on the web regarding monitors.

Most monitors are made with the cheapest technology available aiming at the gaming/multimedia market. So finding a good all around monitor is hard given the technology and the information available about the manufactures choice of panel in a monitor.

A lot depends on your intended use as you might guess. Play vs work are big issues. Most off the shelf monitors are aimed at play. A 16/9 monitor is designed for video. A 16/10 ratio is more of a compromise of work and play and the old 4/3 monitors ratios are primarily for work .

The exception is a rotating monitor which can display a whole page at a time and could be used for work but the caveat is the cheap panels are designed to be viewed from one direction and are pretty bad to look at when rotated.

This monitor is one of those good ideas that really doesn't work. It tries to be a TV and has a lot of good features but the picture is just OK. The monitor side has nice color but text is not crisp so it misses the mark as well.

Many people do no know what to look for or what they should see so they never know that they are subjecting themselves to, unnecessary eye strain, headaches and a general aversion to working on these kinds of monitors are part of the deal.

Granted it is hard to get the appropriate information but it is there.

I wanted a good all around monitor and this one fell short of the mark. It was not worth the money to have television capability when the primary reason i wanted the monitor was for my PC. Not to mention that you can buy a TV tuner card for less than the extra cost of the TV features on the monitor. You can buy a better monitor and TV tuner for less and get better reuslts.

I do mostly text, picture and video editing and web design and ended up with the Hanns-G (19 and 22 inch). They have good color, crisp text, a non reflective screen and are really satisfying to look at and use. The 19 inch does not have the full color range of the 22 inch but works great as the primary monitor.

I have had this monitor/tv since December.
The HD picture is SUPERB. Channels broadcasted in 1080p are just OUTSTANDING! The monitor is crisp and clear. It was easy to set up and well worth the price (purchased on sale for less than 300.00)
The only small downside was the sound. Though audible I wanted more clarity. I have it connected to an altec lansing stereo system with subwoofer. I am extremely happy with this purchase. If you are looking for a smaller tv or a combo that can also function as a monitor do not hesitate to buy this one!

This monitor looks great and works great. OK, maybe it cost a few extra bucks to get the HDTV included, but the TV is almost free.

Unlike the reviewer below, I had no problem using it with VGA @ 1920x1080. The other reviewer probably needs a better video card or better quality VGA (sVGA) cable. [I'm using an HP netbook with an Intel GMA 945 graphics adapter, and a VGA cable I scrounged from the office.]

The aspect ratio adjustment (4x3 or 16x9) is also handy for working with older computers that would otherwise be delivering a distorted image. Too bad they didn't include 5x4 too, but 4x3 and 16x9 cover most cases.

Please note that the Samsung website is out of date on the PDF manual. The monitor I picked up at the Staples store yesterday DID NOT INCLUDE a VGA cable or a DVI cable. It only included an HDMI cable. I called Samsung support, which was helpful, and I believe I will be receiving the VGA cable in the mail soon - something they were not obligated to do, but the person on the phone probably could not imagine that they would intentionally ship a monitor without a video cable so he did not verify intended contents. YMMV.

Great value! I was a bit concerned about the sound on this unit, given some other reviews that I had read before purchasing, but I have a suspicion that this has to do with what is transmitted by the various networks, as I have been amazed at the quality of sound, which has been as vivid and crisp as its picture at times, in particular, the programs transmitted in HDTV 5.0 technology. Nonetheless, I do plan to upgrade the sound by adding a speaker system to it, to make for a more ambient experience!

It is great to use. Easy controls. The remote could be a little narrower, but not a big deal.
Colors are really good. Am using it as a bedroom TV so far. May try it sometime as a monitor. It's a good deal, since it does both.
Wish it could tilt forward, since it sits on our dresser now, with the cable box under it, etc. Using a book right now.
Looks sharp. Nice design. Very attractive overall.
Remote works well.
