    I own a first generation Samsung Galaxy 7 inch tablet that I love. As my eyes age (cataracts growing, floaters, etc.) I wanted a larger screen. I TRIED the Samsung Galaxy 2 10.1 t aablet but was dismayed to learn that it would NOT allow me to install QuickMark, a bar/QR code reader app that I prefer. The app developer told me the rear camera does not auto focus. I found this hard to believe since my older 7" tablet does. After two phone calls to Samsung, which company provides GREAT customer service, I learned that the Galaxy 2 10.1 tablet rear camera does NOT autofocus rendering it useless for bar and QR codes. While I rarely use this feature, I DO use it. Ultimately, I returned it and bought the Samsung Galaxy NOTE. I paid more than I wanted to pay and got a bunch of features I probably will not use, BUT it does autofocus!

    This tablet and its successor, the NOTE, both offer an IR feature and an app (or widget; I don't know the difference between the two, if any) that allows you to control your TV, cable box and possibly other equipment from your TABLET.

    I DO recommend this tablet if you will NEVER want to scan a bar or QR code, or photograph anything close up. OTHERWISE, do what I did and spend the extra money for the newer NOTE.

    I decided to get this over the Asus tf300t. And It was a very bad choice. My friend had an Asus tf300t and it was smooth, fast, and very fun. So i said to myself, "I need to get one of these." So i did. But not the Asus And right out of the box it wasn't smooth, or fast. It was horrible. And it was irresponsive to my touch. the processor really makes a difference. So just get The Asus TF300-T. It is way better than this dissapointing samsung.

      I contemplated between this and the kindle fire hd, and the iPad 3rd generation. I compared price, cameras, storage and specific apps that my grandson enjoys. For the price and mi us one Disney application it was definitely a good buy. We are very happy with the purchase. The battery does tend to drain quickly when streaming videos. The picture quality is great. The sound is lacking a little bit, it could be louder. He tends to put headphones while watching movies so that he can "hear everything". The only real issue we have had is finding a case for the device. I have tried using a USB charger in the cigarette lighter during a trip and was unable to get it to charge.

          It can, but you have to buy one that will run on 3g and 4g. Staples doesn't sell the ones that run on those networks. Just the wi-fi versions. Samsung's website has the one for the carriers. Sprint, Verizon, AT&T, T-Mobile, and U.S. Cellular are the ones that have those kind of tablets.

        Why does my Samsung Galaxy II Tab 10.1 give me an authentication error when trying to access my home wi-fi. Sometimes it will connect, and sometimes it will not, and I can hook up to wi-fi in other locations.
        My two android phones do not have this problem at home or elsewhere.
