Print black-and-white documents from any point to which your network extends with the Samsung ML-2165W network-ready laser printer. The printer can be installed on a wireless network, allowing it to be shared among connected systems.

Network Ready

The Samsung laser printer can be connected to a network for use as a shared resource among computers operating over that same network. To make the connection, a wireless network hub or router is needed that's capable of producing an 802.11 b/g/n network. The printer itself creates the connection, requiring just a single touch of the WPS button on the unit to perform the wireless setup. Connection to a single computer is made through a USB interface.

Quick and Quiet Printing

The Samsung ML-2165W printer is capable of quick and quiet printing, saving you time on large print jobs while not creating excessive noise that would disturb your working environment. The printer is capable of producing up to 21 pages per minute, with a first printout time of less than 8.5 seconds from the moment the print command is sent. To produce documents in color, however, will require an upgrade to a color printer.

Ease of Use

The compact size of the ML-2165W, along with the printer's wireless nature, gives you increased flexibility in printer setup. At just under 9 pounds in weight and a little over 1 foot in width, the printer can be placed onto a tabletop where it can be easily accessed by anyone on the network.

Perfect for my needs

Compact, easy to use. I have a home bookkeeping job and use this printer to print reports, spreadsheets, etc. The cost and recommendation of a friend is what steered me to this printer. Though the toner cartridges are a bit pricey, they last a long time. Much better than buying ink cartridges that dry out before I can use them up. At least I won't be throwing out the toner before it's used up!

Disappointing overall

Overall, this printer has been pretty disappointing. As much as I use the duplex function of a printer, I should have paid more, purchased a better printer, and not tried to deal with the manual duplexing of this printer. Since the printer jams pretty frequently, if you are in the middle of a print job where you are duplexing multiple documents, you might as well forget about it, because the printer cannot pick back up in the middle of a duplexing print job if it jams. I have an engineering degree, and still found the wireless setup somewhat troublesome, with an actual minor, but important, omission in the documentation. Once you get it networked, it will drop the wireless connection unexpectedly. The quickest way to reconnect it is to shut it off and turn it on again. At a design level, something is just inherently wrong with the paper feed... When you feed the paper, there is not a "positive stop" where you can feel the paper is in far enough. Ultimately, it's probably either in too far or not enough, because the thing jams all the time. If you're on a super tight budget, want to connect it directly via usb, and have it sitting where you can always monitor it visually, and never print double-sided documents, I guess it might be OK. I guess I shouldn't expect so much from an inexpensive printer, but my suggestion to Samsung is as follows: Don't put the feature on (wireless, manual duplexing) if it doesn't work reliably. I have a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone that is amazing, and I cannot believe that this printer came from the same company!

This unit for the price works extremely well with my IMac and MacBook Pro (both of which are running mountain lion). The MacBook Pro is used wirelessly to the printer and have not experienced any problems. I also print from the iPhone app and the iPad app, but the only downfall is the limited ability the iPhone and iPad app is capable of doing.

The main reason I bought this printer was to free up a USB port on my laptop since there are only two of them. I have tried literally dozens of times to set up the wireless. Even though the installation software tells me again and again that I have been successful (!), it lies. But it works when coupled via the USB port and prints clearly and quickly, so if you don't need the wireless feature, it should be good for you.

I use this in my car, this is fast, efficient for last minute assignments to do on the spot with WIFI. It uses a lot of toner, but has a very sharp image. The cost of the toner is higher than a normal printer, so you wouldn't want this for the only printer you use if you have high volume. Install and up and running was very esay. It is light weight and one of the smallest lazer printers I could find. Price on the printer was very reasonable. Remember with potable, lazer printers you will not be able to find fax/scanner/copier all in one a keep it portable.
