    This laptop is most comparable to a 10' tablet, at half the cost. I am a techy who can't stand to type on touch-screen tablets. The batter life of this device rivals that of a tablet with more functionality. It does lack in some areas but shouldn't be thought of as a laptop but more a tablet with a keyboard.

    Things difficult to do
    - There is pretty much no way to access file shares on network storage other than ftp.
    - Local storage is limited but available, cloud storage works great and is available for free.
    - Streaming media doesn't work from the laptop so you will need a media encoder somewhere to make that work
    - It doesn't support Netflix, this totally stinks and the only way around this is to install dual boot Linux.

    Things that are easy to do
    - setup is so fast and easy
    - updates are automatic and don't brake you machine like Microsoft
    - automatically load all your settings from other chrome installs, including syncing bookmars
    - file management is so easy, including the cloud storage
    - Multiple user configurations
    ------------------------------
    Things for the techy
    - Installing dual boot to Ubuntu Linux is easy and works good, not perfect but good.
    - making development mode available without totally braking this is easy and your wife will still be able to use it as if nothing happened.
    - XBMC in ubuntu is just too much for this arm processor to handle.
    - If you brake things, just press spacebar on bootup and everything goes back to factory settings.
    - PLEX media server steams beautifully to this machine and the display is amazing.

    First, I notice that all of the Pro & Con check boxes are for a printer, not a laptop.
    Re the item I bought, I did not realize that the Chromebook is not a PC. This is a problem that means I will have to exchange it. Now, for instance, I've discovered that it doesn't recognize my flashdrive.

    I knew all about the Chromebook when I went into the store to buy it. I was going to get the cheaper model, but got the Samsung because of the WIFI. The sales people were very helpful, made sure I knew all about the Chromebook. I love the computer, it has taken a little to get used to the Chrome OS system, but it wasn't hard. I still will use my Windows laptop, but for the internet, this Chromebook is great!!!!

        Best device I have ever used for surfing the web. I love the Chrome Browser so this was a snap to use. Free Cloud storage comes with the purchase. The cloud printing is so cool and easy to use. Set up was a easy. Syncs to our PC when using the Chrome browser. I got this for my wife to replace a Netbook with the slow Atom processor and Win 7 Starter. Seems like every time she went to use the Netbook it had to update. This made checking her email a 20 minute process. Now she just opens the cover on the Chromebook and it is instantly on and ready to use. She loves it. I love it and I am getting one for myself for my internet use. This device does not replace your PC if you need to use software other than google apps

            the Samsung Chromebook is a very well made laptop, which starts up as soon as you open it. You can be online in a couple of seconds. Anything you can do with a browser is at your fingertips. In addition Chrome has a whole range of features and functions built in and ready to go from a menu bar at the bottom of the screen. There are all kinds of apps available online, many of them for free. You can store all your files in the cloud or you can add external storage through USB ports. There is also a SD card reader. I have not yet had time to explore all the possibilities of this machine. It's going to take a while.

                As long as you purchase the correct version of these products, you should be able to install them on any platform/machine. However, Adobe Photoshop generally requires a decent amount of system memory as well as a decent CPU and GPU. The Chromebook barely meets the minimum requirements to run the latest version of Photoshop CS6.

                iTunes cannot be used on Chromebook. You would have to use Google Music Manager to sync music through different software.
