I saw this on sale at a really good price at Staples and grabbed it. The large 16-GB capacity definitely came in handy when I had to transfer some important, irreplaceable files from my old work laptop - files that our useless, outsourced IT outfit somehow missed moving over when they decided to swap out my laptop (against my wishes). Thank God I noticed that these files were missing on the new laptop, and thank God I had this brand new 16-GB flash drive on hand, since it had more than enough capacity for me to copy the critical files from the old laptop before they were wiped to electronic heaven. With today's file-size bloat, a high-capacity flash drive like this SanDisk Cruzer is a great asset to have on hand for easily transferring files from PC to PC.

My only gripe is that SanDisk didn't include a lanyard with this Cruzer flash drive. This particularly flash drive is small and amazingly light. That's great for portability, but that also means it's very easy to lose if you're not careful with it.

I love the high capacity and it seems to work as well as my 4gig previous flash drive. I keep all of my work files on it because I am a consultant and move around from client to client and office to home. I carry it with me everywhere i go. With 16 gigs I plan to use this drive for a long time and am concerned that the thin plastic case won't hold up. My old drive had a metal case it was from their Titanium line. [...]

Good value for money. Getting rid of the bloatware is easy, just format it. I use it as a recovery drive for my Toshiba ultrabook, so I don't think I need to use it, hopefully ever.

                • A:

You should check to see if the drive has been formatted. If it has, try backing up the file to your computer to see what the size of the backup is. I don't believe it will reach 16GB, but anything is possible.

Third option to try, check to see if there are any hidden files on the drive, which is located under folder options, it's not enabled by default. There could be something hidden on the drive taking up all the space.

Yes and no. It simply depends on how fast you want Linux to run. The faster the better of-course however, it is not needed. It will still run, but not as fast as you may want it. The faster it can read your usb drive the faster it will load up.

Yes, you are able to plug in and play the audio files. It would not start up automatically like a CD would, but if you click on the song(s) they will open with the default audio player.

You would not be able to transfer books from your Kindle directly to a USB flash drive. All of the books that are purchased through Kindle are saved in your Amazon account. Should you ever lose your content, your items can be downloaded back to your Kindle through Amazon.com.

                  A:

That depends on the photos. Several factors determine the size of a photo, including the type of file, size, composition, resolution, and mega pixels.

Photos typically run anywhere from 1 to 5 megabytes, but can be much smaller and much larger. If your photos average 4 megabytes you could get about 4000 pictures on a 16GB flash drive.

A TON of pics. Each pic has different resolution and different size so there's no telling exactly or approximately how many pics will fit. That's what's so great about a flash drive... you can load it till it's almost full, add and delete till it's to the max.

Too many variables to answer this. It depends on the size of the photos (resolution, color depth, megapixels, etc). With my camera (an 8MP cannon) I have put about 350 picture on my drive and it only used up about 10% of the drive. Remember, your milage may very.
