First off, DO NOT TRUST BAD REVIEWS HERE. Those people either never used computers or are totally misinformed.

Setting this thing up is as easy as 1-2-3.
Plug it in, WIN should recognize it right away and U3 software window will pop up asking you if you want it installed. I personally hate any unnecessary apps on my comp so I clicked NO. That was it. No reboots or anything required.

NOTE: U3 software will stay on the flash drive regardless what you decide. If it bothers you, you'll have to manually remove it from the drive by using Windows Explorer. U3 Software is located in the root and System directory/folder. System folder is HIDDEN, so you'll have to make sure your Windows Explorer is enabled to see hidden files. Google it if you aren't sure how to do so. That is it. Took me 5 secs to delete the software.

The drive isn't going to break any speed records, but then again, it isn't the slowest either.
The status light seems rather big and quite bright. It may prove to be a problem to some people who leave the drive plugged in their bedroom computers overnight.

-just need to add small metal loop to metal pin already attached to drive in order to put on an identifying label/tag. Our previous flashes all had this feature. It is near impossible to even attach a small paper clip under the metal pin on this flash.

A USB drive has a simple job to do - provide extra, portable storage. This unit tries to do more and in so doing becomes a pain to install and use. I want to just plug in a USB drive and have it show up in my drive list - with this one you have to go through some annoying setup stuff and RESTART YOUR COMPUTER before you can use it. OK, that's a one time annoyance.BUT the most annoying thing about this drive is the big bright light which keeps flashing on and off like a lighthouse ALL THE TIME. The Sandisk support site says this shows the thing is "breathing". There is no way to turn it off - although I might put some black paint over it. It is very distracting, especially on a laptop where it is right up in your face. Whatever [*] designer genius thought of that should be fired.

This flash drive had some software on it that, initially, I didn't think I'd use but I kept it. I tried to delete it later and couldn't get rid of all of it. I wish manufacturers would leave well enough alone. Just provide expected capabilities and don't do the thinking for customers.

This Cruzer drive works perfect on every machine I have tried it in. Fast and holds tons of data. I would give it 5 stars for perfomance. Only drawback is it's almost too small and I am afraid of losing it. I would prefer that it had a hole to add a lanyard when I carry it around. This may be a plus for some people! Can't go wrong for the price.

The slider that allows you to extend the USB part to plug into the computer does not hold. You have to put your thumb on it and hold it while you plug the device into the computer. It is not sturdy and slips.
