Wide Body

The design concept is excellent, and the snap-out connector works well. However, the case is about 1 mm too wide in both width and height, making it difficult or impossible to insert two of them, either horizontally or vertically, into adjacent ports on a machine. Some cabled USB connectors also have excess width or height, and that's a tight squeeze, as well. So, for the case, a stronger, tougher plastic might allow the Cruzer case to be smaller in both critical dimensions, and eliminate this functional problem. Including the powered hub, I have 9 devices plugged into the 5 ports on my 'desktop replacement' laptop, and that might be somewhat unusual vis á vis the usual user.

I have used Sandisk products for my cameras and thought this was a good buy. But it is cheap. It's made of slippery cheap plastic and the little bar to attach a short cord is so hard to use, that I am probably going to take the unit back. Sandisk should design it with a curve under the bar rather than a 90 degree space or attach a ring themselves.

I do like the sliding usb connector rather than a cap--caps get lost.

Bought to use for Ready Boost for Vista/Windows 7. The software loaded on it is a pain. Vista keeps loading it after I dump through formatting. Computer locks up almost every time.

When mounted, the SanDisk 8GB Cruzer displays an ADDITIONAL disk image on the desktop for the U3 System, which is operable only in Windows machines. At best, it is annoying to have to carry along a lame Windows disk image. At worst, SanDisk has abandoned its platform-independent image; thus, maybe Mac users should abandon SanDisk.

I needed a drive that has encryption and can run applications without logging in as administrator and this 8GB Sandisk Drive, like all Sandisk Cruzers, has U3 applications and security. This is the best Flash Drive that a small business or personal user could want.

I like these except that they come already set up for U3 applications. If you want to use it strictly for space, you have to do something extra. I would rather get it set up as empty space and then have the option of setting it up for U3 apps. This is how another brand does it. I do like the Sandisk units, I just don't like that they come prepared as U3 devices.

Its a great device. I plugged into windows Vista to check for readyboost and it works; it don't says here but it is capable.

Ok, about that U3 technology software, I think its great, but I am not sure If I need it now or haven't used much of it so far any way...
It says it can launch Operating systems and software etc... so it maybe neat as well..
also has something about drive safety and encryption something for files.. not used much so cant tell much...

Otherwise, its great. Its readyboost. Its small. It has orange blinking light once connected.

Maybe on bad side: no lanyard; U3 automatically installs-not sure if good or bad for security folks; the open USB design maybe prone to dust;

Its small and you could easily loose it, so put a
leash or something on it :)
