Employees at the local Staples brought the box out to my Camaro hatchback, and it fit just fine with the back seats folded down, leaving the hatch lid open. We had been concerned we'd need to rent a truck to get it home. The desk has an attractive "planked cherry" finish which blends well with a filing cabinet I already had, and with other furniture in my adjoining den. I'm using this desk for a home office, with a 19" LCD monitor and printer on top. Instructions, which are fairly thorough for assembly, say it's not made for holding big TVs. So, not sure I'd try putting a huge old-style 19" monitor on it, but it seems reasonably sturdy. Despite the good directions, assembly took me at least 6 hours. If you do this sort of work a lot, maybe it will go more quickly for you - I just took my time to be sure everything was done right. The biggest problem was turning all the cam locks 210 degrees, as required. I'm a fairly strong guy, yet struggled with these a bit, using a basic long-handle screwdriver. Maybe there's a better screwdriver that would've made this task easier. The only other problem was that I put a couple of the drawer slides in wrong at first, and had to switch them around to get the drawers to fit. Anyway, I got it all put together and am quite happy with it. The desk seems fairly heavy, but was easy to move around on my laminate floor, using an old blanket under one end, lifting slightly on the other end. Given the sale price I purchased it for, it has the looks and functionality of a much more expensive desk. I'm considering getting a glass top to protect it, though that might mean losing use of the wiring hole.

What attracted me the most about this desk was the large surface area of the desk to place my laptop, etc. What I hated the most was how DIFFICULT it was to assemble. You definitely should have an electric screw driver as the screws that are used to attach the cabinet door are just impossible to screw in by hand. The draws also don't align well so one catches onto the other whenever you attempt to close one. The keyboard slider doesn't slide smoothly either-it jams. You definitely need a partner to help you assemble this considering how heavy the wooden pieces are and how important it is to align everything properly. The price is worth it for the quality of wood you get. It's just the screws and catching drawers that annoy me. Other than that I was satisfied with this purchase.

This desk is very sturdy and should last quite a while. I put it together in about 3 hours and couldnt be happier. Looks great, calissically stylish and solid.
This desk is pretty nice for the money. My husband put it together in about 3 hours. It is sturdy and holds a good deal of stuff. We did have a problem with the smaller drawer, but it isn't that bad. It opens and closes, but sticks a bit. I think for the price, you are getting a decent desk that will last quite a while. I am totally happy with my purchase.
IT TOOK SOME TIME TO ASSEMBLE, AND THE DIRECTIONS COULD HAVE BEEN BETTER. THE CAMS WERE IMPOSSIBLE TO TURN BY HAND. THE DIRECTIONS SAID TO NOT USE A POWER SCREWDRIVER, BUT I HAD TO IN ORDER TO GET THE CAMS COMPLETELY LOCKED IN. HOWEVER, IT ONLY NEEDS ASSEMBLED ONCE. I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE FINISHED PRODUCT. ITS VERY STURDY AND EVERYTHING WORKS PERFECTLY (DRAWERS, DOORS, ETC). I DON'T THINK I'LL NEED TO BUY A NEW DESK FOR A VERY LONG TIME!
This desk is ideal for home office use. Took my son 5 hours to put together; directions were pretty straight-forward. Sauder is a quality name, and this desk comes with a 5-year warranty. Plenty of storage space.
