    I'm using this to store TIFF files from over 30,000 photos I'm scanning. I already use 2 MyBooks, which both work well, so I originally bought a 3 Gig MyBook. It was really slow and thumpy, which led me to believe it was defective. This Seagate is much faster and totally quiet. I've only used it for about 3 weeks, but so far it works great. I haven't tried the software, since I exclusively use Windows Explorer to move the files. If I need another drive, I'll probably buy another Seagate.
