        The drive works as expected. However the guide was lacking. It took 3 installations of Windows 7 - troubleshooting the next error each time, before I finally found out that until recently many motherboards wouldn't access more that 2 GB of the 3 GB drive if using it as a boot device. SO I had to buy a 2 GB drive for the boot device and will use this as storage.

        Great drive. Just be sure to read the setup instructions to create a single partition with 3 TB of space. It will default to 2 TB plus room for a second 1 TB partition.

            They only tell you after you buy the hard drive that older computers can't recognize and use the entire 3 TB. No amount of upgraded drivers in an attempt to partition the drive had any effect, so I can only use 746 GB running Windows Vista on a 3-year-old PC. So, save your money and buy an external drive since they work just fine.

              Came exactly as advertised and installed easily and works quickly and well. Very fast data transfer as an internal drive - several times faster than any external drive. I use it for immediate, fast, on site backup of crucial data from the primary drive, but also back up to an external RAID device and the most crucial date also goes offsite to a cloud site. Drive has not been in place long enough to judge reliability but my previous Seagate drives have been reliable. It is wonderfully fast, which means that the data from the main drive is saved quickly in case the main drive crashes. The RAID and offsite may be more secure, but take much longer, leaving data vulnerable to loss in the event of main drive crash. So this fills in that gap. So far the only complaint is that I had to pay a bit more than expected, but since I paid $750 for a 10 MB (that's right megabyte) drive in 1985, I have to smile as I complain!
