I use one as a file share server and media stream server, the other backs up the 1st and all of my other computers. It is simple to setup. I do wish that some settings were changeable and It was difficult to find what ports to open on my firewall for some of the settings.

        Unnecessarily complicated setup with separate Discovery and Backup software. I was able to see the NAS on my network's PC's and an iMAC, and to set up volumes for organizing my backup data. Beyond that - a nightmare. Could not establish appropriate permissions as an administrator to allow access. Could not delete anything I had set up on the drive. Help files inadequate. Seagate lists the NAS 110 on its marketing/sales web pages, but it does not exist as a model under technical support. I'm returning it and looking for better solutions.

          Drive is very easy to set up on network: plug into router, run software, map drive, done. Seems to be fast, quiet and compact.The "global access" software is overly complicated, manual is obtuse, never could get to work.           The only reason to buy this product over a USB drive is the remote access which works slow some times and does not work at all most of the time. By some reason it assumes that users backup only music, video or pictures and produces funny results when the user tries to copy folder with mixed content with some settings. Out of this, the server provides good way to manage the users and their rights and a good local way to store your files.
