I bought 2 Seagate 1.5T in Nov 2011. I moved files from pc to free up space. A few days later I went to make a back up and the Seagate hard drive failed. Called Seagate tech support they were great! I was told I could save all my files,showed me a video on how to take the hard drive apart. I took it to Staples to see if they could retrieve my data.The drive could not be found when plugged in. I called Seagate again was told I could purchase a software to retrieve my data for 100.00 however the demo version couldnt find my drive either. Called Seagate again was told it would cost 600.00 or more for their data recovery dept to pull my files from their failed product. I lost over 700 gigs files. I again called Seagate and requested to speak to a Manager.I was told I would get a call back within 30 minutes, well that never happened. SAVE your money and your files DO NOT purchase this product. I will never buy a SEAGATE product again!!!
