Sentry safes are a nightmare

The sentry safe was absolutely the worst product I have ever purchased and the worst customer "service". I have since seen other reviews on this company that would make me want to stay away from them altogether regardless of the specific model.

This nightmare safe not only has the batteries inside so if they fail you cannot replace them, it is also so poorly built that I am sure the flimsy plastic battery cover fell off twice and the batteries got dislodged. Ergo - safe won't open and contents inaccessible.

It cost me hundreds of dollars to retrieve my valuable documents. You'd think the company would at least have the grace to respond and apologize. E-mail to customer service and two separate delivery confirmed letters one to the CEO and one to the legal department went completely unanswered.

It's really disgraceful! Ended up costing me hundreds of dollars what with buying it, installing it, getting a locksmith to break it open (twice, before I chucked the whole thing). Never encountered a worst company and hope I never will.

This safe is great for quick access and is secure enough to keep a gun away from kids. Great if you own a gun for home defense. Highly recommended.

The tab covering the key hole broke immediately with its cheap quality and design. The battery compartment could be improved.
The safe itself seems to be solid and well constructed and appears that it will do what it is intended to do.

I like the size and space. I especially like that it has a shelf inside. I also like that it works with a key or a code. I just wish it didn't smell so bad. I've had it a few weeks and it still smells! I left it open and even sprayed inside it with airfresher...still smells.
