The first one I received was locked with no combination. The manufacturer was of absolutely no help, so I had to send it back to Staples, which was fine, but it was yet more time without a safe. When the new one arrived, it had a slight paint chip and the bottom bowed just slightly.

I would also point out that the safe comes with no anchor parts or shelves. The manufacturer charges twenty bucks for any of these and they're simple plastic pieces which I can't see costing more than five or ten.

On a side note, the safe does not allow you to create your own code. I was a bit annoyed at that.

All in all, it's solid... but I'm glad I got it on sale.

Ordered this safe for use in our retail store. After installing the batteries the safe would not work correctly. I tried to call the manufacturer only to be on hold for 45 minutes and never got to talk to a human. So, I tried emailing their customer service for help, but never received a response from them. So, had Staples come pick up the safe and returned it. Perhaps if they work, they are good, but with this terrible customer support i would be worried it would fail full of money!

In the write up for the products, it said that it can be secured to the floor in one area and in another acted like it could not be. I have the safe and am unsure. May return or may try to secure it to the floor. After all, what good is a safe if anyone can just carry it away. Love most products that I purchase from Staples, this one is a question mark at this time.
It also doesn't mention a shelf. Well, It does not have one, which is silly on their part. Would be a much better product if it had a shelf and was able to be secured to the wall or floor. Without these two additions, the safe would not be worth the purchase price for people like myself.

The digital combination is way to go, was easy to set up own code and not sure why anyone would give a bad review. Compaired to my old dial safe this is much easier and faster to open. Fits my needs perfectly.

There is no manual no phone# no code for the lock in the package. After getting the phone# from Staples, we called the company. It was hard to reach the service representative. Basically, you could not use it and hard to get the service you need. We returned it the next day.

  This safe comes with hardware to mount to the floor, but not to the wall. You can install the mounts from inside the safe. This requires the use of a drill.

  Per Sentry, "In the case of a fire in almost every case the safe has to be prided open. They are not easy to access unless the safe door has been broken off due to a fall from one level of the house or building to the floor below. Some people have called a locksmith to cut them open."

  The locks on this safe can be reset or changed by the user but you will need to follow the manufacturer instructions- they have an 800 # that once you decide to reset you will need to call the number to change or re-set the combination. Thanks
