This model replaces a 9 year old Sharp that was loud, had no memory, and was not printing correctly. It was fairly easy to set up-though I did bring it home to do so-(have to plug it in for 2 days to charge the memory)--we don't have a lot of departments, and we are not programing with UPC's, etc. The sales tax was slightly tricky, as was lining up our store name to print correctly on the slip. No problems otherwise, and so quiet!
Had to call Sharp once, and they were very helpful--

Programming the individual taxes for each department was confusing. One quick phone call to Sharp and it was easy!! I definitely recommend this cash register. We purchased one just like it last year and now have 2!

I found the set up confusing. Some items were already set up and trying to use the instructions resulted in misoperation flashing.
I sought help from local Staples, but no instruction or help on electronic cash registers. An in-service would have been nice.
Inserted business name on top and below printed SHARP, and some comment. Looking to get rid of that.
I like the way it instantly adjusts for taxes, and the availability of departments and clerk numbers.
