I use highlighters a lot, and while in theory the gel highlighter sounds great, it's application is pretty sad. For starters, the gel itself changes shapes every time you use it, kind of like a piece of chalk, so it rarely has the precision needed to highlight a line of text. It will frequently cover underneath the text you want, or only cover half the text, but then when you make your correction, it has changed shape again so you wind up going overkill and highlighting more than you wanted. It takes way too much concentration and attention to highlight a simple line of text for this to be useful to me.

Precision aside, the gel is fairly messy. You'll often find little specks of gel that have come off while writing, which will then mark other pages when you close the book.

Save yourself the frustration, and don't buy it.

I have always used highlighters. This is the best highlighter out of any of them I have ever used. I enjoy the feel of ease using it, the color lasts so much longer than regular ones, the gel is right up as far as it will go into the pen. Basically, the Gel is not skimped on. It has a nice wide clip if you wanted to clip it onto a pocket etc.. The highlighter doesn't dry out like regular ones. Just really love these highlighters. Thanks.

This highlighter is amazingly smooth. You won't hear it scratching along the paper as you use it. I love it.
