    This is one of the best inventions in recent years. Started in Switzerland, rolled out in Europe and is now growing in the USA and Canada like crazy. It saves you carting bottles and cases of seltzer or soda from your retailer and back or recycling the empty ones.
    The cost to fill a one liter bottle are around 30 cents which is usually about one third or less of the cost of brand sodas.
    Now you save even the shipping cost because you can get the carbonators at many major retailers. But until now only STAPLES carries the most economical 130 liter cylinders. Go for them and enjoy.

    We've had a SodaStream for about a year now, and the 130L carbonators have consistently been delivering only about 100 liters -- not even close. This is despite carbonating only to two 'clicks' per bottle as opposed to the three that SodaStream recommends.

    We are generally pleased with the SodaStream product and concept, but remain convinced that they are completely mis-representing how many bottles you should be getting out of their carbonators. Fail!

    BTW, great news that Staples now carries the higher-capacity (alleged) 130L carbonators -- beats having to ship them via UPS...

      It works as advertised. Once you connect the CO2 cartridge, there's not much more to set up. A plus is that you refill plastic bottles especially designed for use with Soda Stream soda makers. Because of this, you don't buy cans or 2 liter bottles from the store, in some states paying a redemption free for the right to lug this stuff home, then drinking your soda and then accumulating all these cans and bottles to take back to a redemption center, or worse, throwing them away and filling a ton of landfills.

      Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend this to a friend

            There is no way I can rave on and on about a carbonator just so I can get some extra points. Suffice it to say that it's a great product. I really do wish that my local Staples store would put them out on the shelf instead of keeping them somewhere in the back of the store so I could run in and grab one when I need it instead of having to wait for them to go get one for me.

              Love seltzer since a little girl and it is extremely healthy instead of soda. I don't use the flavor packets, just the bubbly seltzer.

                I have a 60L empty carbonator. Sodastream used to allow an exchange of a 60L for a 130L on their website. Does Staples allow me to bring in the empty 60L to exchange for a full 130L? (I know it will fit my model Sodastream).
