I was sceptical about if this machine would work so I didn't want to spend the money myself and it not work. I asked for it for Christmas and it works great!! You can control how much carbination and how much syrup you put in so you can get your own taste. I like soda from restaurants because they have more of a syrup taste and less carbination. Cans of soda taste more like carbination. With this machine, I can make it taste just like soda from restaurants. And it figures out to about a $1.20 per 12 pk!! (That's not including a CO2 refill. I haven't had to refil it yet.) The only negative thing I can say about it is when you have to screw the bottle on the machine, you have to hold one button with one hand while trying to screw it on with the other. Kind of a pain. Would have got 5 stars if not for this.

Let the cola war begin

The cola tastes like coke and we prefer pepsi. The rootbeer and grapefruit are good. Will try some other flavors soon. Make one that is closer to pepsi and all will be grand.

I bought a Sodastream carbonator six months ago in order to stop lugging home expensive soda cans. Sodamix concentrate syrups can be used with sosastream soda water, pre-bottled club soda or flat to cover the taste of unpleasent tap water. The syrup bottle is non breakable and easy to carry along if you just have to have your cola, or orange, root beer or whatever flavor at work or on travel. It tastes better than storebrand soda but not exactly like coke or pepsi. You can make it stronger if you use a lot of ice or weaker if you find sweeteners cloying - you adjust how much syrup you use, not the Sodastream machine. I'm very happy with the syrup bottles, I just wish that they went on sale occasionally.

The Sodastream products are quality made and very innovative. The cost of making your own carbonated drinks is really about half the cost of buying bottled or canned sodas. On top of that, you can create your own flavor combos with any liquid syrups or flavors. It makes great soda water for mixed drinks as well! One added benefit is that you don't have to throw away plastic bottles and cans each time you finish a soda!! We keep at least 3 1/2 liter re-usable bottles of water in the refrigerator to make our carbonated beverages all the time. I highly recommend this product if you drink sodas!!
