This heat pump is great! Haven't tried the a/c yet (it's winter) but it'll be as good I'm sure.
Read the instruction booklet and call the number in the back of the booklet for ANY technical help about this machine.
My biggest complaint is the loudness but at least I'm warm. Also, I wish it wasn't white. It looks like a washing machine in my living room.
I could not use the window installation, so I went through the outside wall with special vents that look just like a cloths dryer vent. Mine have screen for outside and endcaps for inside when I move it from room to room. You 'll need a professional for that kind of installation.

Soleus will, at their discretion, repair or replace unit.
If I pay 350.00 to UPS to ship it to CA.I got a quote from UPS.
Soleus does NOT have anyone local to repair products. Everyone must ship the entire unit (70lb.) to CA for any repair. Staples did not offer extended warranty. Beyond two weeks, any problems with the order are to be taken up with the manufacturer. So.....I am out 500.00 plus tax.
Staples should not offer products for sale that are not able to be repaired locally or have a reimbersment for shipping policy.

That no reimbersment policy must save Soleus a lot of money. Who in their right mind would spend that amount of money for shipping a so-so product back for repair? Good money after bad????? I don't think so.

It's purpose is to cool and later heat an upstairs
fully insulated space at 450 s.f. The july 90 degree summer heat gain finds the unit very slow to cool space. However, allowing to stay on constant cool, fan speed 3, it eventually gets the job done. (PS: balance of house cooled by 1.5
ton central air unit for 1200 s.f.) Heating aspect not yet tested.
