We use these to record TV programs when there are too many we want to see at the same time. I also record programs for my mother, who wants NOTHING to do with computers and isn't sure about programming a DVD recorder. These have been very good for recording and re-recording as we watch what we've recorded. They also store well on occassions when we record something we want to save. The jewel cases help us distinguish between the keeps and the re-record when ready DVDs. We can easily label or re-label the jewel cases to show what is on the DVD.

I was disappointed that, since the last time I bought these, they have made the jewel cases thinner. This make it impossible to label the sides when stacked for storage. Because of the packaging, I couldn't tell this before buying it.
This doesn't serve my purpose of preserving videotapes.

    I love the quality of the Sony DVD-RW, but they are a bit expensive. It's the only disks I can use to record on my Humax/Tivo DVD Recorder. No other brands record properly. But they are reliable and record clearly over and over again. I have gotten a couple of bad disks that said "unrecordable", but for the most part I am very satisfied.

    I use these to convert old family VHS recordings to DVD. Some of the VHS were previously "super-8". In this package, 3 of the 10 discs were un-recordable. On a fourth I was getting some strange 'title' error messages until it starting working. I have previous used the Sony 10 pack (in the orange package) and never had an issues. I just purchased another 10 pack so we will see if there are any defective one again . . . stay tuned!
