Answer this question 1 answer A: The main difference is the companies that make the DVD's. Sony and Phillips make DVD-R, and most other companies use +R. Look on the front of your DVD drive to see which one your drive uses. You will see a + or - on the door that slides out to load a DVD. Answered on 8/11/2010 by Customer Care from Staples

Q: I don't know which disc is better for music alone and which is better for photos or photos/ videos or videos with music. Can you help? Asked on 9/27/2009 by Laura from Illinois Know the answer? Answer this question 3 answers A: If you are trying to make a regular CD or MP3 CD to play on a CD player then you need to use a CD-R. If you are simply using the disks for data storage or transfer (and aren't planning on actually listening to the music with a cd player) then you can use either a CD or DVD. Photos and videos can sometimes be very large in size, therefore a DVD is probably the way to go. Both a CD and DVD can store data, DVD's just hold a lot more (4,812 mb vs 700 mb). Answered on 10/15/2009 by David from Indy A: For music alone, I would use the cd r's. The cd r's are also great for photos. For videos with music, I would use the dvd r. Answered on 10/31/2009 by mfairbanks from New Port Richey, FL A: the sony accucore DVD-R, 120 minutes, 4.7 GB is the way to go if you want quality photo recording, music or video recording.
