I sell computerized embroidery designs on eBay. We purchased these disks to mail to our customers and with the first 25 disks, 6 arrived broken. We have been in business for over 3 years and have never had one CD break before. I also had one disk explode in my drive and totally ruined my burner. I have never had so many problems with CD's!!!

Bought two spindles yesterday from staples when it's on sale. I burned 15-16 music cds with Nero7 in the night, all truned out good. Very reliable. Compared with Philips CD-R I used before which averagely has 1 bad disc out of every 10, SONY is much more satisfying.

They are rated up to 48X but I get better results at 40X and it does not take that much longer to burn.
It is not only better to burn a disc at slower speeds but any errors that might occur are less likely to interfere with playing the disc afterward.

It will depend on the amount of data that you are storing. The Cd-R's can hold up to 700mb of data, where as a DVD+/- R can store 4.7GB of data.

As far as I know, there is no difference between CD-R and CD+R. All I've ever seen has been CD-R (single record) and CD-RW (rewritable option). For blank DVD media, "+" and "-" are different formats, with "-" being the standard. Very few commercial DVD players even recognize "+" media, let alone record it. Those would be DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW.
