As CD-R and CD-RW speeds continue to improve, Staples will always ship the newest speeds. Answered on 5/5/2010 by Customer Care from Staples A: Advertised speed 1 - 48 X. Answered on 4/12/2011 by golfer2 from Southern Pines, NC A: They are rated up to 48X but I get better results at 40X and it does not take that much longer to burn. It is not only better to burn a disc at slower speeds but any errors that might occur are less likely to interfere with playing the disc afterward. Q: What is the difference betweeb CD-R and CD+R? Asked on 9/11/2009 by Bill from Summerville, GA Know the answer? Answer this question 1 answer A: As far as I know, there is no difference between CD-R and CD+R. All I've ever seen has been CD-R (single record) and CD-RW (rewritable option). For blank DVD media, "+" and "-" are different formats, with "-" being the standard. Very few commercial DVD players even recognize "+" media, let alone record it. Those would be DVD-R, DVD+R, DVD-RW and DVD+RW. Answered on 10/20/2009 by Gordon Fleming from Spokane, WA
